Adult Singing Courses

Joining a group environment for tuition has its benefits.

Being in a supportive and sharing environment will allow you to discovert the struggles you are having with your singing are common and normal.

You have the opportunity to make like-minded friends and develop open-mic, choir, and/or karaoke buddies.

It's no secret that 95% of what's holding us back as singers are our nerves.  Standing up and singing in front of a supportive and encouraging group really helps you work through all those nerves that are holding you back

Ear Training & Theory

Harmony is an essential part of any singers training. Whether you would love to join a choir, be part of a Musical Theatre ensemble, or just for learn for your own pleasure - having the skills to hear and create harmony will be invaluable.

Just as our ears are trained to recognise the subtle differences between sounds in language, so can they be trained to hear the subtle differences between vocal lines.  In this course you will learn to listen to the many different sounds that make up the whole of a song.

Students will work towards the creation of a two-part or three-part harmony for a song of their choosing.  We will be learning basic theory and chords.   We will be looking at  phrasing and finding the "blend" with one another.   We will also be working towards achieving a group performance piece which we will perform.

Playing Piano by the Window

Play and Sing on Piano

Next Course -
TBD

Many singers would like the pleasure of being able to accompany themselves while they sing.

The benefits of having this knowledge and freedom is you are not bound to deliver your song in a particular key or feel.   If you are serious about developing your craft further - being able to accompany yourself for the purpose of crafting and development is a game-changer.

In this class we will learn the very BASICS behind reading a chord chart, determining a bass line, finding a rhythm and coordinating the singer and piano at the same time.  This course is specifically geared to using a piano/keyboard as your accompanying instrument.  You will need to have access to a piano or keyboard.

This is a 12 week course.
