If you're a singer in the Wakatipu area, there are plenty of opportunities to further your expertise. Open-mic's and jam nights abound in our area.
Here are some of the ones which I feel offer a supportive and enthusiastic forum for just doing your thing - singing.

Wasabi Choir

'WASABI' is Queenstown's first Japanese choir, established in 2015.
Our repertoire includes popular and classical Japanese and Western songs regardless of genre.
We aim to create a variety of music that can be passed on, and we practice in a friendly and fun manner.
No musical experience is necessary; if you want to sing along, if you want to get serious about music or if you want to learn something new, please feel free to come and visit us.

Bi-Annual Community 'pick-up' choir of 100+ members of our community. 2 weekends prior is total rehearsal time. Sheet music and recorded parts provided.
All welcome -will run at various times of the year, but definitely at Christmas.

All women's semi-professional choir. "Voices Unleashed" and an annual concert every year. These ladies are very popular and joining is by audition held 1-2 times a year.
Repertoire is almost entirely contemporary, with a smattering of Celtic folk, African folk, Gospel.

New faces and old, are all welcome to come jam with us, run by Elle & Alex Music. Bring your own instruments, or borrow one from Elle, there are multiple instruments always available on the night and we even have a full drum kit and plenty of experts willing to provide the beat!
Those keen to get up and play, just track Elle down when you arrive.
